// DISCOGRAPHY
The Sleepy Sleepers are a Finnish rock and comedy band formed in the mid-1970s, known for mixing humorous, often provocative lyrics with energetic rock and schlager influences. Their discography captures both their irreverent style and their role as satirists of Finnish society.
They debuted with Virallinen sleepytieto (1975), which already set the tone with playful and sometimes controversial songs. During the late 1970s and early 1980s they were especially prolific, releasing albums like Hilseilyä (1977), Takaisin Karjalaan (1980), and Singaporen laulu (1981). These records often combined social commentary with outrageous humor, making them both popular and criticized.
Later albums, such as Lämä lämä! (1982) and Oodi oluelle (1985), continued this blend of parody and music, cementing their reputation as Finland’s foremost musical pranksters. While their commercial peak was in the 1980s, the Sleepy Sleepers’ discography remains a cult favorite for fans of Finnish rock comedy, remembered for its bold satire and willingness to push boundaries.
